TeamFoundationSqlNotificationService.RegisterNotificationHierarchy Method (TeamFoundationRequestContext, String, Guid, SqlNotificationHandler, Boolean)

RegisterNotificationHeirarchy is used to register a callback for an eventClass within a database on each of the RequestContexts from the provided requestContext to the root.

Parameters

• requestContext
  Type: Microsoft.TeamFoundation.Framework.Server.TeamFoundationRequestContext

  Database to connect the notfication to.

• databaseCategory
  Type: System.String

  The type of notification to listen for.

• eventClass
  Type: System.Guid

  The type of notification to listen for.

• handler
  Type: Microsoft.TeamFoundation.Framework.Server.SqlNotificationHandler

  The handler method to call when a notification is received.

• filterByAuthor
  Type: System.Boolean

  Whether or not the caller wants notifications filtered that were self authored.

Return Value

Type: System.Boolean
True if all notifications were registered successfully, false if not.
