To change the currency of your Microsoft 365 subscription from HKD to Euro, you will need to cancel your current subscription and create a new one in the desired currency. Unfortunately, you cannot change the currency of an existing subscription directly. Here are the steps you should follow:

    1. Cancel your current subscription: Go to your Microsoft account and cancel the subscription that is billed in HKD.
    2. Sign up for a new subscription: After canceling, you can sign up for a new Microsoft 365 Family subscription, ensuring that you select the Euro currency during the process.

Please note that you will need to check if your account is eligible for the new subscription in your desired currency and region. Additionally, be aware that any remaining time on your canceled subscription will not be transferred to the new subscription.

Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

For Microsoft 365 subscriptions, the billing currency and region are tied to the country where the subscription was originally purchased. Unfortunately, Microsoft doesn’t have a way to directly change the billing currency (from HKD to EUR) on an active subscription, even if you’ve moved to another country.

    Here’s what you can do:

    • You’ll need to end the current Hong Kong–based subscription > The currency can only change when the subscription is purchased under the correct country/region (France / EU).
    • Turn off recurring billing > This prevents another charge in HKD. You can do this by signing in to your Microsoft account > https://account.microsoft.com/services > Manage > Turn off recurring billing.
    • Purchase a new Microsoft 365 Family subscription in France > Once the current subscription expires (or if you cancel it and are okay with losing remaining time), buy the plan again from the French Microsoft Store. It will then be billed in EUR.

    Important note about “immediately”

    1. If you want the currency change right away, the only option is to cancel the current subscription and repurchase it in France. Microsoft does not convert the remaining time or refund the difference just to switch currency.
    2. If you still have time left on your current plan and don’t want to lose it, the safest option is to keep it until it ends in September 2026, turn off renewal, and then repurchase in France in EUR.

I really hope this information is helpful! Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

    Regards,

    John J.D.
