Hi,

I am having the same problem as described here:

https://xtls-v4.hkg1.meaqua.org/en-us/answers/questions/2339783/microsoft-surface-pro-signature-keyboard-is-not-re?forum=surface-all&referrer=answers

and followed the given instructions to create a bootable USB-drive that is specific for my Surface model.

However, when I boot from it as described:

"Create a USB bootable drive, then force-refresh the firmware by following these steps: With the device powered off, hold the Volume Down + Power buttons for 20 seconds, then use the USB drive to boot and select "Reinstall Surface Firmware." This operation repairs underlying communication protocols without affecting your data",

I do not find the option to reinstall or refresh the firmware from the USB-stick in the advanced options.

Is there a different procedure or key combination to do that for that old Surface Pro-X on ARM?

Thanks
Joerg

To force refresh the firmware on a Surface Pro X Model 1876 (ARM), you should follow these steps:

    1. Create a Bootable USB Drive: Ensure that you have created a bootable USB drive specifically for your Surface Pro X model. This USB drive should contain the necessary firmware files.
    2. Power Off the Device: Make sure your Surface Pro X is completely powered off.
    3. Hold Volume Down + Power Buttons: Press and hold the Volume Down button and the Power button simultaneously for about 20 seconds. This will initiate the firmware recovery process.
    4. Boot from USB Drive: After releasing the buttons, your device should boot from the USB drive. If it does not automatically boot from the USB, you may need to change the boot order in the UEFI settings.
    5. Select the Option to Reinstall Surface Firmware: Once you are in the recovery environment, look for the option to "Reinstall Surface Firmware". If this option does not appear, ensure that the USB drive is correctly formatted and contains the right firmware files.

If you are still unable to find the option to reinstall or refresh the firmware, it may be beneficial to verify that the USB drive is functioning properly and that the firmware files are compatible with your specific model. Additionally, you can check for any updates or specific instructions related to your model on the official Microsoft support pages.
