Windows update breaking wifi

My work computer updated this morning. It no longer can access wifi. I have only wifi for accessing the internet (i.e. no ethernet or other option). When I try to rollback the update, the computer tells me that you deleted the files needed to do this. I have tried rebooting the computer. The trouble shooting utility is useless. How do I figure out what you broke and fix it? I have device authentication software so I need wifi internet on that device.

Thanks for sharing the problem. If the update caused the adapter to disappear or stop working, the supported steps are to confirm the adapter is listed, reinstall the wireless driver from your device maker’s support page, then check for updates again.

If the adapter is present, disable and enable it, then run Network reset in Settings, Network and Internet, Advanced network settings. Rollback is not possible if the files are removed. If the driver reinstall does not restore WiFi, use Advanced startup to run System Restore to a point before the update.
