I bought a new computer with Windows 11 Home.

I purchased a Pro upgrade from Amazon and upgraded the new complter.

Then the computer crashed and I had to return it back to back costco and get a replacement computer, same brand as before.

Now I want to upgrade it to Pro but the key I have from my purchase at amazon does not work.

I need to have Micrsoft reset it so I can use it on this computer

If you have purchased a Windows 10 or 11 Pro upgrade key and are experiencing issues activating it on a new computer, you may need to contact Microsoft support for assistance. When you return a computer, the associated digital license may not automatically transfer to a new device, especially if the original device was not fully activated or if the key has already been used.

Here are some steps you can take:

    1. Check Activation Status: On your new computer, go to Settings > Update & Security > Activation to see if there are any messages regarding activation.
    2. Use the Same Microsoft Account: Ensure that you are signed in with the same Microsoft account that was used to purchase the upgrade, as this can sometimes help in recognizing the license.
    3. Contact Microsoft Support: If the key does not work, you may need to reach out to Microsoft Support to reset the activation key or to get a new one. They can help verify your purchase and assist with the activation process.

Keep in mind that if you purchased the upgrade from a third-party vendor like Amazon, you might also need to provide proof of purchase to Microsoft support.
