Hi, I don´t know what happened with the latest update for editing the pdf files in browser, but anytime i but text in while working with my textbooks, my files grow so large that i cannot open them and not even compress because they are too large. Anyone could help me with this or should i use another pdf editor? Thanks in advance

Hi Daria, I can imagine how frustrating it is to see your PDFs balloon into gigabyte-sized files just from adding text especially when you’re trying to work efficiently on textbooks.

After editing use Print to PDF instead of saving directly or edit outside Edge by converting to Word or using a lightweight PDF editor like PDF Candy or Smallpdf and finally compress the file with tools such as Smallpdf or PDF24 to keep the size manageable.

Are you mainly adding text annotations or editing the actual PDF content when the file size explodes?

    Best regards

Opening the enlarge PDF file created by Edge in Acrobat Reader then printing to PDF worked for me.

    Reduces the size by x100.

Printing to PDF from Edge only reduced the file size by a about a third
