    Hello,

I appreciate you reaching out about disabling the Copilot icon in PowerPoint Enterprise I understand how disruptive unexpected tools can feel in a professional workflow.

It turns out you can easily remove that icon by turning off Copilot entirely in your PowerPoint app. In PowerPoint on Windows go to File select Options select Copilot then uncheck Enable Copilot, click OK and restart the app. This removes the Copilot button from the ribbon and disables all Copilot features on that device.

On a Mac you’ll find the same setting under PowerPoint select Preferences select Authoring and Proofing Tools select Copilot uncheck Enable Copilot close and relaunch to apply the change. If you prefer to just hide the icon without turning off Copilot completely you can customize the ribbon right-click it select Customize Ribbon find the Copilot group under your Home tab and remove it. Keep in mind that hiding it doesn’t disable Copilot features behind the scenes.

If your goal is enterprise-wide control, administrators have a few options. The Copilot license can be revoked via the Microsoft 365 admin center removing the license from users or groups will disable Copilot in all apps for them. You can also block Copilot tenants-wide by adjusting organizational policies.

I hope this answer is helpful if you have further questions feel free to reply back

    Regards,

    Marcelo

    Hello,

Thank you for confirming that the option isn’t visible in your PowerPoint settings. This typically means your application is on a version that doesn’t yet include the Copilot toggle. In this situation you can hide the Copilot icon by customizing the ribbon. To do this right-click anywhere on the ribbon, choose Customize the Ribbon, locate the Copilot group under the Home tab and remove it. This will hide the icon although Copilot features will still remain active.

If you want to completely remove Copilot your Microsoft 365 administrator can revoke the Copilot license for your account through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. Removing the license will disable Copilot across all Office applications.

    Best regards,

    Marcelo

    Hi,

Thank you for clarifying that the Copilot icon isn’t listed under the ribbon customization options and isn’t part of the ribbon itself. In this case the icon is most likely part of the Quick Access Toolbar or a contextual element introduced by recent updates.

Start by checking the Quick Access Toolbar through File select Options select Quick Access Toolbar and remove any Copilot-related command if it appears there. If that doesn’t resolve the issue review the add-ins by going to File select Options select Add-ins then select COM Add-ins at the bottom and click Go. If Copilot is listed uncheck it and restart PowerPoint.

It’s also important to confirm your PowerPoint version under File select Account select About PowerPoint. If you’re using a build that doesn’t include the Copilot toggle the only way to completely remove Copilot is through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center by revoking the Copilot license for your account.

    Best regards,

    Marcelo

The copilot toggle is not in any subcategory of "options", and the microsoft admin is not available for my account. However, for future search purposes, I successfully removed the copilot icon by reverting to the 11/20/2025 verson following this guide . I hope microsoft never does something so stupid in the future.
