To troubleshoot the issue of Smart View not appearing in Excel after downloading, you can follow these steps:

    1. Enable Content: When you open Excel, make sure to select Enable Content if prompted. This is often necessary for add-ins to function correctly.
    2. Check Disabled Add-ins: Sometimes, add-ins can be disabled. To check this:
      • Go to File > Options > Add-ins.
      • In the Manage dropdown at the bottom, select COM Add-ins and click Go.
      • If Smart View is listed there, ensure it is checked and then click OK.
    3. Restart Excel: After enabling or checking the add-in, restart Excel to see if Smart View appears.
    4. Check for Other Add-ins: If you have other add-ins installed, they might conflict with Smart View. You can disable them temporarily to see if that resolves the issue.
    5. Repair Office: If the above steps do not work, consider repairing your Office installation. You can do this through the Control Panel under Programs and Features.
    6. Reinstall Smart View: If all else fails, try uninstalling and then reinstalling Smart View to ensure a clean installation.

If you still experience issues after trying these steps, you may want to consult Microsoft Support for further assistance.

    Hi @Bodiwala, Nirali

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

According to your concern, you can follow this guideline to enable SmartView in your Excel app:

    • Download the SmartView folder (you have already done it)
    • Open File Explorer and go to Download folder. The folder is currently compressed so you will need to extract it by right click the folder > Extract all > Select the location for the folder (usually C: ). Also select the option "Show extracted file when complete" so you will go to the file immediately after finishing extracting.

    • Then you will see the files list like this. Select the SmartView application and double click to run it. Follow the prompt window to install SmartView

    • When finishing, open Excel and you will see SmartView tab. If not, go to File > Excel > Options > Add-ins and insert two add-ins for using SmartView

    Hi @Bodiwala, Nirali,

The error code you're experiencing happened due to an improper installation or corrupted files of SmartView add-in. Therefore, I suggest you should check this guideline to correctly install the SmartView add-in:

1- Permanently delete the old file

    • Open File Explorer and navigate to the folder C:\ > select the Oracle folder > press Shift + Delete and choose Yes to permanently delete the file.

    User's image

2- Download a fresh new SmartView folder

    • Go to official Oracle website and download a new SmartView add-in file.
    • Please ensure you download the correct system type that your computer is using (x32 or x64). You can check that by open Settings > Systems > scroll down to About > look in the System type information.

3- Repeat the SmartView enabling steps

    • After installation, please try the steps I did provide earlier to see if the SmartView is added successfully.
    • If the issue still persists, you may need to run Excel as Administrator to load the add-in properly by closing Excel completely > type Excel in the Windows search bar > select Run as Administrator and repeat the steps again

    User's image

    4- Manually register HsAddin.dll

    • Close all Office application > type Command Prompt in the Windows search bar > select Run as Administrator
    • Paste one of the following commands based on the System type of your Office:

    C:\Windows\System32\regsvr32.exe for 64-bit

    C:\Windows\SysWOW64\regsvr32.exe for 32-bit
