It usually means Windows thinks your PC is managed by an organization, so OneNote follows that organization's policies even if you are using a personal account. The quickest fix is to disconnect any work or school management link from Windows, then sign in to OneNote only with your personal Microsoft account.
Close OneNote and all Office apps.
Open Settings > Accounts > Access work or school. If you see any account or connection listed, select it and choose Disconnect. If you see Manage, open it and look for a Leave organization or Disconnect option. Confirm all prompts.
Restart the PC.Open OneNote and go to File > Account. If any work or school account is shown, select Sign out everywhere. Then choose Sign in and add only your personal Microsoft account.
Try OneNote again. If the Access work or school page shows nothing to disconnect or the error persists after these steps, tell me what you see and I will guide you through the next one.
