xbox app not opening

my xbox app is refusing to start, only showing a loading screen before automatically closing. i have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times, used powershell to clear my caches, changed my firewall settings, tried repairing and resetting the applications and nothing works. i have viewed another question on this site about the same issue and tried the fixes listed there, and nothing listed worked even after trying all of them and starting both game services and the xbox app. here is the link to the other post discussing this issue: https://xtls-v4.hkg1.meaqua.org/en-us/answers/questions/3863350/xbox-app-stuck-on-launching-the-xbox-app-then-cras

this did not work, the app did the same thing as always

Hi,

Thanks for your response. Please open PowerShell (Admin) and run:

winget install 9MWPM2CQNLHN # Gaming Services winget install 9MV0B5HZVK9Z # Xbox App winget install 9WZDNCRD1HKW # Xbox Identity Provider

These commands reinstall critical components. If winget isn’t available, install it from https://apps.microsoft.com/store/detail/app-installer/9NBLGGH4NNS1.

this still didn't work, although i believe this issue is the same one preventing me from downloading sea of thieves through the microsoft store. i think it has something to do with online play

Hi,

Thanks for your response. the Xbox app issue and the inability to download Sea of Thieves from the Microsoft Store often share the same root cause: broken dependencies for Gaming Services, Xbox Identity Provider, and network-related components required for online play. Run services.msc > set to Automatic and start:

Xbox Live Auth Manager

Xbox Live Networking Service

Gaming Services

Microsoft Install Service

IP Helper
