If push notifications are not coming through to your iPhone for the Outlook app after the last update, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Check Notification Settings: Ensure that notifications for the Outlook app are enabled in your iPhone's settings. Go to Settings > Notifications > Outlook and make sure that Allow Notifications is turned on.
    2. Update the App: Make sure you have the latest version of the Outlook app installed. Sometimes, updates can fix bugs related to notifications.
    3. Restart Your Device: A simple restart of your iPhone can sometimes resolve notification issues.
    4. Reinstall the App: If the problem persists, try uninstalling and then reinstalling the Outlook app. This can help reset any settings that might be causing the issue.
    5. Check Do Not Disturb Mode: Ensure that Do Not Disturb mode is not enabled on your iPhone, as this can silence notifications.
    6. Check for iOS Updates: Make sure your iPhone is running the latest version of iOS, as updates can also resolve compatibility issues.

If none of these steps work, it may be worth checking if other users are experiencing similar issues or if there is a known issue with the latest update.

Does not help - I have already done all the above. Other than uninstalling the Outlook App, because when I do it say 'To delete Outlook, select another mail app as your default'. Then prompted to Go to Settings - not sure what to do from there

    Dear @Karen Deegan,

Good day! Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum!

Based on your description, I understand that push notifications are still not coming through to your iPhone unless you open the Outlook app, even after following all the recommended troubleshooting steps such as checking notification settings, updating the app, restarting your device, and verifying iOS updates. You mentioned that you haven’t uninstalled the Outlook app because when you try, it prompts you to select another mail app as your default and directs you to Settings, where you’re unsure what to do next.

I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by this issue.

May I ask what version of Outlook and iOS are you using?

Regarding this situation, since the above steps didn't work, could you check with a few colleagues or friends who are using the same Outlook version on iOS to see if they’re experiencing similar push notification issues? This will help confirm if it’s a widespread problem with the update or something specific to your device.

In the meantime, kindly try the following suggestions to check what might have caused the issue:

    • Set a Default Mail App before uninstalling: Since iOS requires a default mail app if you remove Outlook, you could:
      • Go to Settings > Apps > Default Apps > Email and select another app (e.g., Apple Mail or Gmail)
      • Once set, you can uninstall Outlook without issues
      • User's image
    • Perform a clean reinstall
      • After uninstalling, restart your iPhone
      • Reinstall Outlook from the App Store
      • Sign back in and re-enable notifications in Settings > Notifications > Outlook
    • Check Background App Refresh
      • Ensure Settings > General > Background App Refresh is enabled for Outlook
      • This helps notifications work even when the app isn’t open
      • User's image

Kindly let me know when there are updates or if you need further assistance. Any updates you’re able to share would be really helpful. I appreciate your time and look forward to hearing how things are going!

Thank you for your time and patience.
