explorer.exe programs does not load --class not registered

Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc).

Select the Processes tab.

Find Windows Explorer in the process list, right click it and select Restart.

Your screen will go blank for a second or two and then recover.

Check if Explorer is then working.

If not, open the Settings App.

Go to System - Recovery.

Click the Reinstall Now' button in the 'Fix problems with Windows Updates' section, then wait for that process to complete.
