I want to change my subscription back to classic but my account is linked to an email address that no longer exists. I spent 2 hours with a Microsoft chat assistant and got absolutely no where. I have cancelled my auto renewal which is due tomorrow but now i have no licence at all and I only want classic!!! I've tried calling the 1800 number and only got another digital assistant who could not help me.

To update your subscription from Personal to Classic when your linked email address no longer exists, you will need to follow these steps:

    1. Contact Microsoft Support: Since you have already tried the chat assistant and calling the 1800 number, consider reaching out through the Microsoft support website or using the support options available in the admin center. You may need to create a new support request if the previous attempts did not resolve your issue.
    2. Provide Verification: Be prepared to verify your identity and explain your situation regarding the email address that no longer exists. This may involve providing any other information related to your account.
    3. Request Subscription Change: Clearly state your request to change your subscription back to Classic. Ensure that you communicate that you have canceled the auto-renewal and are looking for a resolution regarding your licensing.
    4. Follow Up: If you do not receive a timely response, follow up with Microsoft support to ensure your request is being processed.

Unfortunately, without access to the email linked to your account, it may complicate the process, but Microsoft support should be able to assist you in resolving this issue.

    Hi Mitchell,

I'm Sumit, here to assist with your question.

Apologies for any inconvenience - I'm happy to help you today.

I am afraid only Microsoft support can cancel the subscription, as this is a user-to-user support forum.

Were you able to contact a Human yesterday on the chat?

I’m eager to hear back and work together to find a solution.
