Will Outlook Calendar Drag & Drop for events be supported again?

I have a feeling I know the answer to this, but will they ever return the Drag and Drop feature for events from one calendar to another in Outlook again? It was the most user friendly/easiest way to duplicate events for users at all levels and it seems to be a major downgrade to get rid of this feature.

    Hi @Bethany,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concerns. I completely understand how valuable the drag-and-drop feature was for quickly moving or duplicating events between calendars - it made managing schedules much easier for many users.

Currently, the New Outlook for Windows does not support dragging and dropping events between calendars. This change was introduced as part of Microsoft’s effort to unify Outlook across desktop, web, and mobile, but it has resulted in some feature gaps that users like you have noticed. At the moment, there is no official confirmation that this functionality will return, though Microsoft is actively working toward feature parity with Classic Outlook.

Here are workarounds you can consider to use:

    • Switch back to Classic Outlook: If this feature is essential for your workflow, you can toggle back to Classic Outlook from the profile menu in the New Outlook.
    • Use manual duplication: In New Outlook, you can open the event, copy details, and create a new event in the desired calendar.

I understand this change may feel like a step backward, and your feedback is incredibly valuable in shaping future updates.
