Outlook iOS chosen default font stopped working and font within email can’t be chosen either

In Outlook for iOS, the chosen “default” font no longer applies to new emails or in reply to other emails. User's image

But within an email:

User's image

Similarly, within an email message it is not possible to specify any font; when opening the font choosing window the following appears:User's image

I have deleted and reinstalled the Outlook app. I am experiencing this across three iOS devices.

I see the exact same issue, specially when trying to edit the font style when composing an email. I see the spinning circle with the text format field blank.

This appears to be an issue with the Outlook app itself on iOS.

    Hi @DEDoubleU,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Thank you for sharing detailed information about the issue with changing fonts in the Outlook app for iOS. I understand this feature is important and appreciate the effort you put into providing such thorough details.

Based on my test environment, changing fonts in Outlook for iOS is still functioning normally:

    User's image

    User's image

The issue may stem from the following cause:

    • A configuration within your organization’s internal system or a tenant policy may have inadvertently been applied, preventing font changes in Outlook for iOS.

In this case, I recommend contacting Microsoft Support for a deeper investigation into the system and verifying whether any policy has been unintentionally applied to accounts within the tenant (this will not compromise your personal or organizational data).

Once you create a support ticket, a live agent from Microsoft will reach out to you directly and assist with remote troubleshooting to resolve the issue.

To create a ticket, please follow these steps (requires an account with admin rights in the tenant):

    1. Go to: https://admin.microsoft.com
    2. Click Help and Support User's image
    3. Enter the subject: Unable to change font in Outlook for iOS User's image
    4. Click Contact Us
    5. Choose your preferred contact method User's image

After the system receives your ticket and assigns it to Microsoft’s Outlook technical support team, a live agent will proactively contact you using the method you selected and guide you step by step until the issue is fully resolved.

Note: We appreciate your understanding regarding the scope of support provided through this forum. As moderators, our role is to offer general guidance and assist with common troubleshooting steps. We do not have access to internal systems or administrative tools required to resolve account or backend issues, but we will continue to support you within our responsibilities.

I hope this information is helpful. Please follow the steps above and let me know if they resolve the issue. If not, I am ready to continue working with you to find a solution.

Thank you for your patience and understanding throughout this process. If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out.

I look forward to your response.
