Hello @Justin Ives,
Good day! Thank you for posting your valuable question on Microsoft Q&A forum.
Please understand that our forum is a public platform, and we will modify your question to cover your personal information including your organization domain name in the description. Please notice to hide these personal or organization information next time you post error or some information to protect personal data.
To help us provide the most accurate and effective solution for your bold font issue, could you share a bit more detail about your setup?
- Does this happen in all browsers or just one (e.g., Edge, Chrome, Firefox)? What are the affected browsers
- Do non-browser apps (like Word, Teams, or system menus) also appear bold, or is it only web pages?
- Have you enabled any accessibility settings such as High Contrast mode, Increase Contrast, or custom display settings?
- Are you using any browser extensions or tools that modify fonts, styles, or enhance readability (e.g., Bionic Reading, Reader Mode)?
- Does the issue persist when you open an InPrivate/Incognito window or use a different browser profile?
- Have you installed any custom fonts recently (e.g., Segoe UI or design packs)?
- Did this start after a recent update (browser, OS, or Microsoft service)?
This additional context will help us understand your environment and the steps already taken so we can tailor the guidance to resolve the issue effectively.
In the meantime, you can try to clear your browser cache:
For Microsoft Edge
- Click the three dots (…) in the top-right corner.
- Go to Settings.
- Select Privacy, search, and services.
- Under Clear browsing data, click Choose what to clear.
- Set Time range to All time.
- Check:
- Cached images and files
- (Optional) Cookies and other site data if you want a full reset.
- Click Clear now.
- Restart Edge.
After clearing cache, sign back in to Microsoft services and check if fonts render normally. If the issue persists, please kindly let me know the answer to my questions above.
I apologize for not jumping straight to a solution. I want to avoid suggesting anything that might be inaccurate or unhelpful. Once I have the details above, I’ll be able to assist you more effectively and guide you toward the right resolution.
Looking forward to your response so we can get this sorted out for you together.
