    Hello sudha gowda,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum!

I understand that you are having issue with Office installation. I truly understand how you feel. Let me assist you go through this situation.

As your description, it sounds like your Office installation reverted from Office 2019 to Office 2016 after you inserted an SD card. Therefore, there are my suggestions for you:

    Step 1: Check Installed Version

    • Open Word → File → Account → Look under Product Information.
    • Does it say Office 2019 or Office 2016?

    Step 2: Remove Old Version

    • Go to Control Panel → Programs and Features.
    • Uninstall Office 2016 if it appears.

    Step 3: Repair Office 2019

In Programs and Features, select Microsoft Office 2019 → Change → Quick Repair or Online Repair.

    Step 4: Re-Activate Office 2019

    • Open Word → File → Account → Sign in with the account that has the Office 2019 license.
    • If it still shows 2016, sign out and sign back in.

    Step 5: Check Shortcuts

Make sure you are launching Word from the correct shortcut:

Path for Office 2019: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\WINWORD.EXE (Yes, Office 2019 still uses the "Office16" folder name, so this is normal.)

I hope this will help with your situation. Please feel free to reach back if you have further update or more questions.

    Best Regards,

Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

    1. Did you sign in with a Microsoft account that has an Office 2019 license?

Have you checked the Microsoft Services & Subscriptions page to confirm if the Office 2019 license is listed under your account?

    https://account.microsoft.com/services

If your account shows that you own Office 2019 but Office 2016 is installed on your device, please use the Office License Removal Tool to completely remove all traces of the existing Office installation. After that, you can reinstall Office 2019 using your Microsoft account.

    https://aka.ms/SaRA-officeUninstallFromPC

Once the product is fully uninstalled, restart your computer. And you can download and install Office 2019 from the Services & Subscriptions page in your Microsoft account.
