    Hi Dave,

The Notes pane in PowerPoint is treated differently from the slide canvas. Here’s why:

The zoom slider is designed to scale the slide view only, not the notes text.

The font size for notes is controlled by the Notes Master, not by the zoom setting.

The new PowerPoint interface focuses on simplifying the ribbon, so some older shortcuts for notes formatting aren’t as obvious.

    What you can do

Change font globally using Notes Master

Go to View → Notes Master.

Select the notes text box and set your preferred font size.

Close Notes Master this applies to all slides.

Change font manually for one slide

    Click inside the Notes pane.

Highlight the text and use Home → Font size controls.

If your goal is for printed notes

Go to File → Print → Settings → Notes Pages.

Adjust scaling in printer settings or export to PDF and zoom there.

Microsoft designed the zoom slider for slide content only. Notes are treated like a separate editor, so the only way to change font size globally is through Notes Master. Let me know how it goes, Happy to help!

To change the font size of the Notes Pane in Edit (Normal) mode:

    1. Choose View>Outline View.
    2. In the left-hand outline pane, right-click on choose Show Text Formatting.
    3. Select text in the Notes pane. The formatting toolbar should pop up, where you can set the size of the Notes pane text.
