I can't open my authenticator app on my mobile device.

I'm trying to login to my school account to register for classes, but I can't because the authenticator app is not letting me open my account there and obtain the verification code.

    Based on your description, it sounds like you are trying to login to school account to register for classes, but the authenticator app does not let you access and obtain the verification code.

    • Does it have any notification show up? or have you tried alternative methods to access your account?
    • Has it occurred before?

    If you still cannot access to your account because of authenticator. I recommend you contact to your IT/admin of your organization or Helpdesk. They may be able to reset your Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) settings. As general Microsoft Support, we do not have administrative access to change these settings. Only your IT team has the ability to adjust or reset your MFA configuration. You can also refer to this Microsoft support article for more information: Manage authentication methods - Microsoft Entra ID | Microsoft Learn   

    In case you are the only Global Administrator and you are completely locked out from the tenant. You might need to contact us via phone service number: Customer service phone numbers - Microsoft Support. The agent will be able to create a ticket for you under the affected tenant and then transfer this ticket to Data Protection team who could help you to regain access.
