    Dear Lenny,

The KB5065879 update for Windows 11 versions 24H2 and 25H2 has been reported to cause compatibility issues with certain legacy Epson receipt printers. Since uninstalling the update restores functionality, we recommend temporarily pausing its reinstallation while Microsoft investigates a permanent fix.

    To prevent KB5065879 from reinstalling:

    1. Use the Show or Hide Updates Tool Download the official Show or Hide Updates troubleshooter and run it to hide KB5065879 from Windows Update.
    2. Pause Updates Temporarily Go to Settings > Windows Update > Pause updates to delay automatic installations while monitoring for a revised release.
    3. Set Group Policy (for managed environments) If you're using Group Policy, you can configure update exclusions under: Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update > Manage updates offered from Windows Update

We also recommend checking with Epson Support for any updated drivers or firmware that may restore compatibility with newer Windows builds.

If this guidance proves helpful, feel free to click “Accept Answer” so we know we’re heading in the right direction 😊. And of course, I’m here if you need further clarification or support. T&B, Domic
