Cannot find files on OneDrive when using the Search tab option, have to go in and manually find the exact file

I have been using OneDrive for school for many years without many issues. I have large files with notes over many years and it can be difficult to manually find them in each folder so I have often used the search tab to find the file. Recently over the past couple of months when typing words in the search tab it just gives a loading symbol instead of showing file options with the word searched like it has before. I then have to find the exact file manually which can be difficult at times as well as time consuming. This has been an issue not only on my iPad but on my iPhone as well which makes me think there is a problem with the app in general. I hope a new update can fix this as both my devices and apps are update to date as of now.

    Dear Kurt,

    There is an on-going incident SP986310 "Some users aren't receiving accurate search results for managed properties within SharePoint Online sites" related to the SharePoint Online file search performance have been being investigated by the related team.

    The issue doesn't happen in all tenants. Some users in some tenants are affected.

    The issue needs to be fixed by the related team directly. Sorry for that we may have limited resources on fixing it.

    To fix the issue as soon as possible, I suggest you contact the administrator in your school (If you aren't the administrator) and let him follow the steps in Get support - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn to open a support ticket to our related team as soon as possible.

    The administrator should be able to open the support ticket from Help & support in the Microsoft 365 admin center.

    Then you can select the Phone support or the Email support as follows.
