Deleting Recent items from Windows Search

Whenever I type any software's name in the "Type here to search" section of the taskbar, a list of recent files I opened with the software appears in a side pane. I really hate such cluttering but the bigger problem is that I have deleted many such files but they still keep appearing in the list and the "Remove from this list" option doesn't even work. Is there any way to delete such items from those lists?

    Hi Koobrick -

Thanks for the response and I do apologize on the delayed on mine.

Since that the link did not resolve the issue that you have, please try to follow the steps below and check if it will resolve the issue that you have.

    1. Open the settings of your computer by pressing the Windows Key and click on the gear icon
    2. Click on Personalization
    3. On the left pane, click on Start
    4. Once on Start, please look for "show recently opened items .... " , turn it Off and turn it back on.

That should clear search history on your Start Menu and will reset its search history.

Feel free to reply on this thread if you need further assistance

    Regards,

    Kevin B.

Thanks Kevin for the prompt reply.

I referred to the linked thread but unfortuantely I must be using a different version of Windows 10, since I have two distint tabs for "Speech" and "Inking & typing personalization" unlike a common one titled "Speech, inking, & typing." And neither of them has any "Stop getting to know me" option.

I also tried the "File Explorer>File>Change folder and search options>Clear File Explorer history" way but that didn't work either.
