full screen video at lower than 4k lags and stutters (connected thru hdmi on macbook air, only on edge afaik)

So I have a macbook air which i have connected to a 4k tv thru hdmi, and 4k60fps works perfectly fine on other stuff. I game thru GFN and 1080p60fps works smoothly without issues or stutter at fullscreen, videos on the steam app on any games' store play smoothly, and I've tried the same YT video on firefox, safari, and chrome and they could all play it at a smooth 60fps without any stutter, except edge (firefox even supported HDR, tho idk if thats something I can toggle on manually, would appreciate some info on that), so its def not hardware related.

and again its only at resolutions lower than 4k. with 4k video the video doesn't stutter on the 4k tv, but anything lower like 1440p, 1080p, etc, the video stutters while playing. this also only happens on the external display, it can play media at any resolution smoothly on the native display.

Any help is appreciated.

    Hello Jorge Emiliano Bustamante Montenegro.

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Regarding to your information I assume that you have some issues when using the Edge play the video.

Some users have encountered a similar issue to yours (video playback stuttering) on both Windows and Mac.

This may be related to recent updates to Edge. Since video playback is typically related to decoding,

I recommend that you first use Edge's feedback feature to report the issue to the developers.

After that, try disabling hardware acceleration and checking if there is any AI-enhanced video feature and turning it off.

    edge://settings/system

Then, try changing this setting on the website to see if it helps.

    edge://flags/#use-angle

You can also try using the Canary version to see if the issue persists.

If it does, I suggest providing feedback on both, as feedback on the Canary version is generally more likely to be given attention.
